Suit Filed Over Death In Crash With 'Rock Of Love Bus With Bret Michaels' Truck
October 18, 2008Mark Konkol of the Chicago Sun-Times reports that the family of a woman killed in an Interstate 57 crash involving a driver for POISON singer Bret Michaels' upcoming reality show "Rock of Love Bus" filed a lawsuit Friday in Cook County seeking more than $100,000.
Kevetta Davis, 19, a Southern Illinois University student from Chicago, and another woman were killed September 26 when the car they were in was struck by a truck carrying equipment for the VH1 show.
Crew member Dennis Hernandez allegedly fell asleep at the wheel and crossed the median near West Frankfort, colliding with the car. Named in the suit are Hernandez, VH1 Music First, Viacom Inc. and 51 Minds Entertainment.
Bret Michaels temporarily suspended production on "Rock of Love Bus" last month to reach out to the families of the two women who killed in the car accident.
Bret said in a statement: "As a father of two, I cannot even imagine what the families must be going through at this time. I will make every attempt to reach out to them to let them know that my heart and prayers are with them during their time of grief."
